Software engineer (Team Care Platform)

Are you a clean code developer who enjoys working with new technologies but also doesn’t shy away from refactoring existing code? Do you get energized by working on an innovative product within the healthcare sector? This might be the job for you!

About Ecare

At Care Platform, we are at the forefront of architecting centralized, cross-team supported care solutions. Functioning as an internal platform team, our primary users are our application teams, to whom we deliver innovative and robust software solutions. Our current focus is on enhancing the reliability, performance, and security of the Ysis integration. Our vision extends towards creating software that is fully integrated and interoperable with internal teams, emphasizing ease of access and coherence of data. We are laying the groundwork for a future where the seamless exchange of client contextual data is crucial for facilitating high-quality care.

At Ecare, we conceive and create smart and simple ICT solutions for home care, residential care, care for the disabled, and mental healthcare, and we are at the forefront of technological research and innovation. With smart and simple solutions, we facilitate organizations in elderly care, care for the disabled, and mental healthcare. Our software is called PUUR. PUUR. is a professional environment for the caregiver and supporting services, as it aligns with their daily work. Nothing more, nothing less.

We believe in a responsibly simple way of organizing care. Not a “top-down approach” but a method that places the responsibility for care back where it belongs; with the caregiver. At Ecare, we work according to the principles of Holacracy and have a 4-day work week. We do everything for the professionals in the care sector with a bold, energetic, and independent team consisting of very diverse types. Very diverse, yet we all recognize ourselves in three core values: courage, down-to-earth attitude, and curiosity.

What you will do at Ecare

Our Elektronisch Cliënten Dossier (PUUR.) is smart, simple, clear, and user-friendly, encouraging healthcare professionals to be the best version of themselves. Everyone can work with it, whether in home care, nursing homes, care for the disabled, or mental healthcare. Solutions that perfectly match the work context of the professional in the care sector and that fully stimulate collaboration within the client's network. Efficient and enjoyable collaboration in care is our goal!

PUUR. as a platform has been around for many years and recently we have released the latest features. But we want more! We are in an exciting phase of application development, focusing on optimizing existing functionality and building new functionalities for practitioners. This product works with microservices architecture based on Event Sourcing, CQRS, and Domain-Driven Design. EventStorming is used to map out the domain model. Continuous Delivery is highly valued here, with a constant drive within the team to release more frequently and stably (CI/CD). We maintain close contact with the users of the application and collect feedback.

You will:

  • Develop in C#, transforming product backlog items into increments of potentially releasable functionality.
  • Conduct unit testing to ensure your creations meet our high standards.
  • Automate infrastructure in Azure DevOps using Ecare templates, enhancing our CI/CD pipelines.
  • Review teammates' code.
  • Dedicate efforts to reduce and prevent technical debt.
  • Manage tasks utilizing a Kanban board in collaboration with your team.

What do you bring to the table?

You are a curious, enthusiastic, and precise colleague who can act as a sparring partner for the rest of the team. Someone who wants to ask critical questions and dares to do so, but who can also make pragmatic choices when the situation calls for it. You have the potential to grow into a lead developer role.

We believe you will be successful as a Software Developer at Ecare if you have the following knowledge. If you don't meet all criteria but are convinced you have the qualities for this role, we still encourage you to apply. We’d love to be convinced.

  • Proficient in C# development, with a solid understanding of software engineering principles.

  • Experienced in API development, including versioning, documentation, and best practices.

  • Familiar with Azure DevOps and infrastructure automation, or willing to learn.

  • A strong advocate for code quality, with an eye for detail and a commitment to creating maintainable, efficient code solutions.

  • Comfortable working in a collaborative setting, open to giving and receiving constructive feedback during code reviews.

  • You are apt in communication in English, and mastery of Dutch is a big plus.

  • Agile-minded, comfortable with Kanban or similar methodologies, and adept at working in a fast-paced environment.
